Logan Travis Chandler

My research focuses on how urbanization shapes the diets of mesocarnivores, including raccoons, foxes, coyotes, and domestic cats. Using the lab's UWIN camera trap network, eDNA metabarcoding of scat, and stable isotope analysis, this work looks at how these animals interact with each other, with human food sources, and with wildlife hosts of Lyme disease like white-footed mice. It also includes screening for the raccoon roundworm Baylisascaris procyonis. I earned my B.S. in biology and environmental science from William & Mary, where I worked in a lab that used eDNA to answer questions about aquatic ecosystems. Before coming to Columbia, I did conservation work with the Department of Natural Resources.
